Hatsune Miku Project Diva Future Tone presents itself as the rhythm game that all fans look forward to ... to forget (a little) the Opus Project Diva X, a disappointment much more for the community than for the developer SEGA. The latter also spent a rather complicated 2016 between the sales of this last episode (too?) Weak and the departure of the producer of the series. With this new release, exclusive to PlayStation 4, SEGA has decided to bring a game from the arcade with a sumptuous graphics engine and a real dream playlist of more than 220 music. Successful bet ?
A graphic engine that makes fans dream
Future Tone is first and foremost a port of the game Hatsune Miku Project Diva Arcade Future Tone (without the mention "Arcade" therefore), released exclusively at the time on terminal in Japan. The first version was released in 2009/2010 under the name "Project Diva Arcade". The system offers high-level performance for terminal gaming, allowing you to display high-definition productions without flinching. Obviously, this is the number one argument to attract players, the bet being successful. The second major update "Future Tone" in 2012 improves the graphics quality and brings a new feature, the "Slide".
The other argument of this title is neither more nor less than its playlist. If Project Diva Traditional does not exceed forty pieces (the only game that has a consistent playlist is Project Diva 2nd on PSP with 47 original music), Project Diva Future Tone has a record number of songs. Indeed, we never thought to see one day an opus of the series with more than 200 music (224 in reality)! All are from the Project Diva episodes on PSP, PSVita and PS3, episodes of Project Mirai on 3DS, or (of course) songs exclusive to Project Diva Arcade. During the first hours, you will certainly be lost to finding your favorite music, because of a massive amount of pieces, although these are sorted in order. That's why SEGA decided to separate this game in 2 versions by dividing the playlist in 2.
For the rest, nothing special except that the game is in English. For modules, you will have them over 300 in total, if you bought them with your VPs that you won during your games. Also know that you can change the haircuts of the Vocaloid (a small touch of customization not negligible). On the other hand, we regret that some features are missing from the Western versions. For example, the absence of the cross-save import: if you want to get the European version while you already have the Japanese version, you have to start all over again (trophies included)! Subtitles translated into English are not proposed, but we will not complain about the result on the previous sections. Maybe we can regret the absence of a version PSVita, but at the same time, considering the graphical section of the game and the size of his playlist, we would probably experienced a version at a discount. You can still use the console as Remote Play, but you are advised against it (wifi, latency, lags, etc.). Note that the game is only available on the Playstation Store for 29.99 € (for a single version) and 54.99 € for a bundle. Honestly, considering the content, the price is perfectly justified (the price would have been higher, it would not have been so shocking).

There is no doubt, Hatsune Miku Project Diva Future Tone is pure happiness, and will bring pleasure to all types of players: can import whether you are novice or experienced. With a compilation of more than 220 songs, its sensational graphics engine and its extremely demanding difficulty, hardcore players and fans will definitely spend hours on this new episode. More than just portage, Project Diva Future Tone is definitely the game to add to your library, including to discover for the first time the universe of Vocaloid.
